Buspar is much less sedating than other anxiety medications; however, use care while driving or operating machinery until the effects of Buspar are known. Different people can react differently to the same medication.
Buspar Drug Interactions
Always be sure to tell a doctor or pharmacist about all the medications currently being taken, even over-the-counter and natural/vitamin products. Medications can sometimes work against each other.
If taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) medication for depression, do not take Buspar without first checking with a doctor. It may not be safe. If taking any other medication for anxiety or depression, be sure to let a doctor know so he or she can determine whether it is safe to add Buspar to a treatment plan.
It's also not a good idea to take Buspar with large amount of grapefruit juice or with alcohol.
